How sad

Now that Leaf Nation has accepted what the rest of us realized three months ago, that the Buds were not going to be in the playoffs, they've turned their attention to the Senators, being a bunch of wet blankets.

They want to tell us how we're not tough enough, how the injuries will cripple the Sens, how we'll lose everyone in the offseason, and so on and so forth.

Here's a suggestion guys: concentrate on your own team. They're a fucking mess. Let us worry about these things, because believe me, we do. They're all legitimate points. We just don't want to here them from you because, frankly, compared to the Leafs, the Sens are the Canadiens of the 70s.

My gosh. You should call in to Team 1200 and tell them too since they seem to talk about the Leafs as much as the Senators, especially on the morning show.

I don't listen to the morning show so I wouldn't know.

I'm from Leaf Nation and I didn't come to any realization three months ago. Unlike most other die-hards, I predicted scratching and clawing to either maintain the final playoff spot in the East or to try and MAKE it into the last playoff spot. Crappy off-season signings of no substance tend to skew my "seeing-eye-into-the-future" capabilities towards more realistic scenarios. And boy, do we ever have "realism" now...

Sorry, sir.

Please continue to inform us all upon which subjects it is permissible to comment.

Whoa there cowboy. It's your blog, say whatever you want to say. To CLARIFY my point (seeing as how what I said was so obviously misunderstood), not all of us in so-called Leaf Nation are clutching their rosary beads, praying that we squeak into the final playoff spot. There are some of us who happened to "see the light" after our top-notch signings last summer (ie - NO playoffs for us). THAT was my point, nothing to do with telling others what to comment on... Go rant your head off for all I care, you and your Sens are certainly in the position to...

Hear hear!

Although part of me still wishes the Leafs would squeeze into 8th so we could crush the detractors once and for all by kicking some serious ass in the postseason.

Just discovered your blog yesterday, and I'm a big fan -- I used to do this, too, before I discovered how much time it took. Now I study hockey for a living.

4/5: "concentrate on your own team"
3/25: "I've decided I have better things to do on a Saturday night than watch the Senators get bitch slapped in the worst way possible."

Does this mean, concentrate only if your team is winning and keeping its baby fans' dipers dry?

It means, when your team is on the verge of missing the playoffs, and is a mess, one should spend their time talking about how to fix it rather than trying to bring down others.

On that night I didn't feel like talking about any hockey team after what I was seeing.

They've been paying us a visit as well, Chris.

It's all very flattering , isn't it?
